Serena Mak is a highly experienced music educator and has been teaching piano for over 10 years. Beginning her piano studies at the age of five, she completed grade eight piano while still in Primary School, and attained her Diploma of Music in Classical Piano at the tender age of thirteen. Serena went on to study Jazz Piano and performed with a premier jazz ensemble during her high school years. During this time, she was specially selected by the jazz giant himself, James Morrison, as Future Finalist for the BMW Generations in Jazz Scholarship.

Apart from studying Instrumental Music Pedagogy at the Queensland Conservatorium of Music, Serena also completed a degree in Business Management at the University of Queensland. She was able to put these credentials to work as the manager of Keyboardkidz Piano School, training and supervising piano teachers over a network of 16 different teaching locations across Brisbane. The music school also boasts the title of Australian National Piano School of the Year in 2011, 2012, 2013 and 2014.

In recent years, Serena has been focussing on the management of her private teaching studio in Eight Mile Plains. She teaches 40 students a week, ranging from fresh beginners to diploma level pianists. Apart from teaching, Serena is also the elected Chairperson of the Worship and Music Committee at the Chinese Methodist Church of Australia in Eight Mile Plains, and currently serves as a conductor for their Youth Orchestra and English Choir.
